        Your First Visit

What happens the first time you visit the Physio Centres will depend on what sort of treatment or class you’re coming for. The information you’ll find on this page will help you envisage and plan the start of your journey at the clinic. If you’re in any way unsure or worried about your first visit, the best thing to do is call us, email us or ask for a call back right now.

        Physiotherapy first visit

When you come for your first physio appointment, you’ll be greeted by our receptionist who will give you some papers to complete. For this reason, it's best to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment time. If you need help with the papers, he or she will be there for you. The more information we have about you, the better we can treat you.

If you are planning to reclaim the cost of your sessions from your private health insurance you must speak to your insurance company to get the go-ahead BEFORE your treatment begins. Many insurance companies will ask you to see your GP for a referral before you come to us so just call your insurance company to find out the rules first. Every company is different so it's important you know how things work. All we ask from you is your claim and membership numbers at your first session with us and we'll invoice your insurance company direct. Some insurance policies have an excess so you just need to pay for this at the beginning of your treatment too.

Once you’re done with the formalities, your therapist will take you to your treatment room to have a chat and make an assessment. Depending on the nature of your injury or condition you may need to wear shorts (if you don’t have any, we have some you can borrow) or remove upper or lower body clothing so we can examine and treat you effectively. You will be treated with complete discretion at all times.

Your initial physio appointment is slightly longer than your followup sessions and will last for around 45 minutes. This is to enable us to listen to you and understand your problem before we start your treatment. This initial appointment also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you’re nervous of asking questions, please don’t be; we’ve heard them all before and in our minds there’s no such thing as a silly question; so don’t be shy!

        Massage Therapy first visit

When you come for your first massage treatment, you’ll be greeted by our receptionist who will give you some papers to complete. For this reason, it’s best to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment time. If you need help with the papers, he or she will be there for you. The more information we have about you, the better we can treat you.

Once you’re done with the formalities, your therapist will take you to the treatment room to have a chat about what type of treatment you are looking for.

Depending on the nature treatment you are looking for and whether you have any injury or condition you may need to remove upper or lower body clothing to allow for effective treatment. In order to provide you with complete discretion at all times, we will cover exposed parts of your body using towels (which we provide). If you’re in any way unsure or worried about your first visit, the best thing to do is call us, email us or ask for a call back right now.
