    Why not try

    Ray Head

Sports Therapy, Advanced Diploma Level 5 (Eligible to treat Elite Athletes).

Meet Ray Head. Ray is a Sports Therapist as well as a Remedial Deep Tissue Massage Therapist with 10 years experience treating everyone from pregnant mums to elite athletes. Ray is a big fan of “prehab” i.e. helping you stay injury free for life.

    Career to Date

After working in IT for a financial company for many years, Ray studied his way over to the health industry in 2004. Since then he’s practiced at various health clubs and clinics in Edinburgh, as well as a freelancer. He’s also worked with Kilmarnock Football Team, Leicester Tigers Rugby Team and a whole host of elite athletes and performers.

    Why Sports Therapy?

A keen runner (from 5ks to marathons), Ray has had his fair share of injuries in his time. It’s these injuries that have made him seriously appreciate being able to function without discomfort. And Ray clearly gets a huge kick out of being able to enable others to be pain-free too.

    Life outside the clinic

Ray has what can safely be described as an active lifestyle outside work and participates regularly in everything from cycling, running, triathlon, martial arts and anything else that looks like a fun challenge…and he loves cake .

Ray has recently become a level 5 sports Therapist with disctinction…so he can treat elite level athletes!

    Favourite thing?

An ideal day for Ray would DEFINITELY consist of exercise, beer, cakes and laughter. Now that sounds a good mix to us!

    Additional Training

Institute of Sport Therapy). Personal Training Specialist Resisted Movement Diploma (Premier and Register of Exercise Professionals). Ray hopes to add Manipulative Therapy - massage and joint techniques to relieve pain) to his toolbox of techniques by the end of 2014.
