        Scott Anderson

        Bsc. (Hons) Physiotherapy, HCPC, MCSP

        Christina-Sharp

Hey, this is Scott Anderson. Scott’s a physiotherapist who specialises in Musculoskeletal conditions. He has experience of working at a high level in sport thanks to his time with Hibernian F.C in Edinburgh. His main focus of attention is the rehab of athletes and the general public alike. By his own admission, Scott gets loads of pleasure from getting people back to a functional level and helping prevent injury through physiotherapy. His special rehab interests range from running injuries, acute lower back pain, sciatica, shoulders and any lower limb conditions.

        Career to date

Scott completed his Bsc. Hons degree in Physiotherapy in 2012 at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. He initially worked in the NHS for over 3 years and laterally specialised as a Senior Physiotherapist in MSK. Since July 2012 Scott has been an employee of Hibernian Football Club, where he was initially responsible for the academy set-up before becoming more involved with the senior team. During the past couple of years he has also worked part time in private practice in Glasgow.

        Why are you a Physiotherapist?

In response to this question, Scott explains that as I youngster he was a keen middle distance runner running at a competitive level. He goes on to share the fact that he picked up a few aches and pains and was amazed at how physiotherapy was able to decrease his pain and help him return to competition quickly. Scott also suffered a serious knee injury when he was 14 and had to attend physiotherapy every couple of weeks for a period of time. As he says himself, “I think after recovering from that my mind was made up!” In addition to this, like all of his colleagues, he gets a great deal of satisfaction knowing he has made a difference to his patients by reducing their pain and helping them return to what they want to do; whether that be sport or normal daily activities.

        Life Outside the clinic?

Not surprisingly really, Scott lists his main interests as sport, running and being with friends. He also likes a bit of armchair sport and admits that he likes to watch as much sport as he can, with football, athletics, tennis and Formula 1 heading up his choices. But it’s not all sport for our Scott. Oh no, he also likes going out for a nice meal and catching up with friends and family- we’re right with you on that one Scott!

        Achievements/Claim to fame?

When asked this question, Scott replies without hesitation “Being part of the Hibernian F.C squad that ended the 114 year wait to win the Scottish Cup in 2016!” As Scott explains, that was “Just an amazing experience that I was lucky enough to be involved with.” Now that’s what we call a guy with patience!

        Favourite thing?

Scott's favourite thing is being outdoors on a nice day or catching up and having a laugh with friends.
